"Say Goodbye" - Mandisa

During my three mile walk two days ago, I came across a song {Say Goodbye} by Mandisa (love her songs) and it made me think ... I love when songs make me think :)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! {2 Corinthians 5:17}
When we are made new in Christ, we need to put what we used to be behind us.  No matter what our past mistakes be, no matter how much we hate what we use to be like.  We need to "say goodbye" to who we once were, and embrace who we are in Him.

Enjoy this song by Mandisa - I hope you are greatly encouraged as much as I am when I listen to it! :)

Chris Tomlin's New Music Video

Picture of Chris Tomlin from Pinterest

I have always loved Chris Tomlin's music, so when the opportunity to promote his new video ... haha I may have jumped for joy ;)

<< You can find the video on YouTube

<< You can get the song on iTunes

Ooooh and don't miss the chance to enter into Mr. Tomlin's giveaway ;)

If you are interested in the story behind the song, here it is:
We all have a picture of who we think God is. When we get down to the foundation of what we believe, the truth is that God is exactly who He says He is – a good, good Father.

Do you like Chris Tomlin?
Which of his songs do you like?
What did you think of his new video?
Comment and tell me, I'd love to hear from you ;)

My song for the year

I am aaah-maaay-zed at how God is clearly showing me what He wants me to learn this year.  As I was listening to Pandora last week the Collingsworth family came on, and they were singing "I Found it All" .... as I listened to the words of this song, I just started crying!  I couldn't believe the fact that this song relates to me 100%.

I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do and I pray that it speaks to you as much as it speaks to me!

I Found it All by the Collingsworth family

Celebrating another year here on this earth

This year for my birthday we:

*went to garage sales
*went to Everything Darlin' - and I got a beautiful necklace :)
*went to Goodwill
*washed Mom's van
*went to the Brain Free and Assurance concert
*went to Cracker Barrel - and I ended up receiving a free dessert + a birthday song :)

So below is a video that I took at the concert and several pics from my bday!!  Enjoy :)

"Jesus Will Pick You Up"
okay - the guy singing is the bass Jeremy Lile....I kid you not, when he hit the lowest note, the whole ground shook!!

Yes y'all I wore that hat ALL DAY...EVERYWHERE I WENT
I do encourage y'all to think about investing in one though.  I had so many random people wish me a happy birthday AND because of the hat, I got a free picture frame and dessert :)

Sydney has grown to be such a beautiful young lady!
This picture definitely shows Mom's personality ;)

I love these two <3

The whole fam!

from L-R: Brian Free, Bill Shivers, Mike Rogers, Jeremy Lile

The necklace Mom and Dad bought me while we were at Everything Darlin'

Below are two pics of the t-shirt that I got at the concert :)

All in all I had a terrific bday.....as always!!  Tonight we are having a small bday party with my grandma and family friends :)  It still hasn't hit me that I'm now 19...my last year of being in the teens :)

Life is fleeting

I found this video on Pinterest and it made me cry...while it spoke truth!!

So many times, we as older siblings push the younger ones away!  Why?  Why do we was older siblings need to be so selfish?  All they want is affirmation, love, and for us to sacrifice a little bit of our time for them! We need to make sure we leave our younger siblings a legacy...how do you want your little brother and/or sister to remember you?  I know I want Sydney to remember me as an older sister in whom she can confide, play with, run to when she needs comfort, etc.

Now I admit...for the past eleven and a half years I have failed miserably...praise God I get a second chance...I pray that God grants me another eleven and a half years to make up for the past.

Anyway...I hope this video speaks to you like it did me!

Prodigal Son's Prayer - Dierks Bentley

As I was doing school about two weeks ago (I think the time frame is right) I heard this song.  I wasn't exactly sure what Pandora had playing so I was getting ready to dislike the music.  As I continued to listen to the words, I instantly fell in love with it and liked it.  Needless to say, while I do school, I sing along :)  I absolutely love the message this song gives!!  I'm so thankful that we have a Father who will meet us with HIS arms wide open!

I don't know much about Dierks Bentley....except for the fact that he is not a southern gospel singer/writer. He is simply a country singer!  I do not promote country music...yes I may play southern gospel songs written by country singers.  I simply promote the message the song gives!!

Anyway...without further rambling...enjoy the "Prodigal Son's Prayer" by Dierks Bentley :)

My love be with you all in Christ Jesus,

Alisha

Blessed Assurance - Rob Deas

OK. so the same friend who gave me both Carlton Forrester songs also gave me an arrangement of Blessed Assurance by Rob Deas.  I have yet to learn it the way it's supposed to sound...even though I've had it for a little over five months :P  Why you ask?  Let me just tell you that I have a really hard time with timing when it comes to the piano :P  Anyway...enough said...found the song on YouTube...enjoy ;)

Amazing Grace rendition by Carlton Forrester

Two weeks ago, a friend of mine played the most beautiful rendition of John Newton's "Amazing Grace" written by Carlton Forrester.  I'm always looking for ways to add new piano music to my collection, so I asked my friend if he could make me a copy...and he did!  I was so excited...I went home and tried to play it, only to be disappointed that I couldn't!  So last Friday I asked my piano teacher if he would help me learn it and he said he absolutely would ...yay!

So I thought I would share the song with you all...enjoy!  Let me know what you think of this rendition :D

My favorite music - Southern Gospel

If you would have told me four years ago that I would be a Southern Gospel music fan at 17, I would have told you that you were absolutely nuts!  I wouldn't want to part with my contemporary Christian music.  I loved the artists: Brandon Heath, Steven Curtis Chapman, Tobymac, Kutless, and so much more!
At 16 God changed my heart about the choice of music I loved!  While we were making our move up to the East Coast, my mom wanted to turn on Christian music.  However, we couldn't find the K-Love station...instead we found what sounded like country.  As we listened with discerning ears, we soon learned that the music we were listening to was...Southern Gospel!  My mom, Sydney and I were very distraught when we reached a point to where we were out of range for that station.
Now that we've lived on the East Coast for two years (I think), I haven't once wanted to listen anything but Southern Gospel.  I have deleted all the Christian contemporary music from my mp3....except for one...Brandon Heath's "Give Me Your Eyes" (that is a story for another time :D)
Last year we went to a Promisedland Quartet concert...I loved watching them perform!  Here is one of there songs that I thought I would share with you...enjoy!

A must see music video!!!

Chelsy Bontrager shared this video on her blog...and to be honest with you I thought that it wasn't going to be that great.  You know that saying, "Don't judge a book by it cover"?  Yeah well, I've learned something else, don't judge a video by the picture that pops up!  Well okay, this doesn't apply on some videos :P  I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did!
