"Say Goodbye" - Mandisa

During my three mile walk two days ago, I came across a song {Say Goodbye} by Mandisa (love her songs) and it made me think ... I love when songs make me think :)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! {2 Corinthians 5:17}
When we are made new in Christ, we need to put what we used to be behind us.  No matter what our past mistakes be, no matter how much we hate what we use to be like.  We need to "say goodbye" to who we once were, and embrace who we are in Him.

Enjoy this song by Mandisa - I hope you are greatly encouraged as much as I am when I listen to it! :)

Chris Tomlin's New Music Video

Picture of Chris Tomlin from Pinterest

I have always loved Chris Tomlin's music, so when the opportunity to promote his new video ... haha I may have jumped for joy ;)

<< You can find the video on YouTube

<< You can get the song on iTunes

Ooooh and don't miss the chance to enter into Mr. Tomlin's giveaway ;)

If you are interested in the story behind the song, here it is:
We all have a picture of who we think God is. When we get down to the foundation of what we believe, the truth is that God is exactly who He says He is – a good, good Father.

Do you like Chris Tomlin?
Which of his songs do you like?
What did you think of his new video?
Comment and tell me, I'd love to hear from you ;)

Prodigal Son's Prayer - Dierks Bentley

As I was doing school about two weeks ago (I think the time frame is right) I heard this song.  I wasn't exactly sure what Pandora had playing so I was getting ready to dislike the music.  As I continued to listen to the words, I instantly fell in love with it and liked it.  Needless to say, while I do school, I sing along :)  I absolutely love the message this song gives!!  I'm so thankful that we have a Father who will meet us with HIS arms wide open!

I don't know much about Dierks Bentley....except for the fact that he is not a southern gospel singer/writer. He is simply a country singer!  I do not promote country music...yes I may play southern gospel songs written by country singers.  I simply promote the message the song gives!!

Anyway...without further rambling...enjoy the "Prodigal Son's Prayer" by Dierks Bentley :)

My love be with you all in Christ Jesus,

Alisha

while listening to our Cockatiel whistling the unforgettable tune, whistling the tune to myself, and wishing I owned....

I had no clue the theme song had lyrics...I guess you learn something new everyday :P

Blessed Assurance - Rob Deas

OK. so the same friend who gave me both Carlton Forrester songs also gave me an arrangement of Blessed Assurance by Rob Deas.  I have yet to learn it the way it's supposed to sound...even though I've had it for a little over five months :P  Why you ask?  Let me just tell you that I have a really hard time with timing when it comes to the piano :P  Anyway...enough said...found the song on YouTube...enjoy ;)

My favorite music : part 4

The first time I heard this song, I started to tear up.  My mom is the one who told me about Jesus and she's the one who taught me to sing (however...I don't sing as beautiful as her...in fact I can't sing to save my life)!  My mom means so much to me...love you Momma!

What life is like without a piano

Unbearable
Every day that passes by, and you look at the space where your "best friend" is going to be, you're on the verge of crying. Why?  Maybe it's because you just started working on the good ol' hymns.  Maybe it's because it doesn't feel like a true day without your fingers touching those ivory keys.  So you have to default to this:

Incomplete
Everyday that passes and it feels like your day is incomplete.  You know deep down that you have forgotten to do "something", by you don't want to admit to yourself what that "something" is.  Why?  Maybe it's because you have never been away from the piano longer than what it takes to get from Iowa to Texas.  Maybe it's because you've been playing this most wonderful instrument for about 10 years now.  Maybe it's because you truly have  a love/passion for the piano, and you have a desire to strengthen this talent that God has given you.  Maybe it's because you know your day is incomplete when you find the picture below a comfort and it makes you sigh:

So now y'all know how I truly feel about not having a piano (we will hopefully be moving the piano over to the new house sometime this week).

Love from,
Ali-bug

Amazing Grace rendition by Carlton Forrester

Two weeks ago, a friend of mine played the most beautiful rendition of John Newton's "Amazing Grace" written by Carlton Forrester.  I'm always looking for ways to add new piano music to my collection, so I asked my friend if he could make me a copy...and he did!  I was so excited...I went home and tried to play it, only to be disappointed that I couldn't!  So last Friday I asked my piano teacher if he would help me learn it and he said he absolutely would ...yay!

So I thought I would share the song with you all...enjoy!  Let me know what you think of this rendition :D
