Being Mission Minded << Top Ten Unconventional Overseas Packing Tips >> Guest Post

You've Never Thought of These Before
...but you'll thank me later...

1. Bring the General Store. Yes, I saw you cringe as you read that. It totally goes against the theory of packing light and only bringing essentials- but truly, if you pack smart, it can be done- and you won't regret it. I won't travel overseas without twine, scissors (in your checked bag, please!), and tape. Ingenuity is essential, and these tools will never steer you wrong. I also like to bring a dark bedsheet- which has been used in the past to form a quick changing room (thanks to the twine and scissors previously mentioned), privacy from open windows, covering belongings from dust or spreading out on the dirt floor.

2. Tissues, Toilet Paper, and Wet-Wipes are Your Friends. You may think they'll just take up space in your bag, but believe me, you won't regret these either. Traveling seriously wears down your immune system- throw in a change of climate, different water and cultural food, and you have a recipe for the sniffles (at best) or stomach bug (at worse). Treat your nose right and pack some good facial tissue- remove tissues from cardboard box and seal in a zip-lock bag to save space. Wet-wipes are also essential- depending on why/where you're traveling, showers (and time!) may be scarce. You'll appreciate having wet-wipes available to remove travel grime and as a quick refresher. You can't always trust the water overseas, so they're perfect for washing your face or wiping down your hands while you're out and about. And while we're on the self-care products- bring a roll of toilet paper. Laugh now, but you won't be laughing later when every bathroom you go to is fresh out. Carry it in your backpack and you have not a care in the world.

3. Invest in Good Shoes. Traveling is expensive, and if you're like me, you want to cut down the costs as much as you can. I always buy second-hand and scour clearance racks- however, the best piece of travel advice I ever received was to invest in good shoes. Don't think of it as splurging, but as an investment in high quality with the assurance that these shoes won't let you down while you're gone. There's really only 3 pairs of shoes you need, depending on the terrain and circumstances surrounding your trip:

Boots/Tennis Shoes: I highly recommend Ariat boots. They cover your ankles, give you good traction, and are by far the most comfortable boots I've owned- as well as the most expensive, but they truly were worth every penny (I did find mine at Tractor Supply Co. on sale). They're stylish and can easily be dressed up or down depending on your outfit. These are my brown shoes, to be worn for work or with outfits with brown accessories. If you're not a boot person, go with tennis shoes that are comfortable and supportive.

Sandals: I own a pair of Teva sandals (purchased at a discount store). There are so many different hiking/traveling sandals out there- do your research and try on lots of pairs. You don't want something that will end up giving you blisters or have straps that will let you down- thus, I don't recommend purchasing a pair of sandals online. Every shoe is different and you want a pair that will fit your foot like a dream. No flip-flops or some cheap pair here- get something with velcro and rubber. They may not be the most fashionable shoes you own, but there are certainly ones that are quite nice. These are my black shoes, to be worn for traveling or with outfits with black accessories.

Shower Shoes/Flats: Depending on the kind of sandals you choose, it's up to you whether or not you want to wear those shoes in the shower house. For me, I don't like soaking the velcro on my sandals, so I pack a pair of cheap flip-flops. If you don't mind soaking your main pair of sandals, you could pack a pair of neutral flats as your third pair of shoes.

4. Pack to Toss. You know you'll have lots of presents and souvenirs to bring back- but your bags are full as it is! Pack knowing that you're going to toss some things before you return home. Leave behind toiletries, even some of your "General Store" items, or clothes that have gotten stained. Know that you're going to be using up a lot of your toiletries/snacks, etc., but anything that's leftover before you have to fly home can be left behind.

5. Feed Yourself. Don't underestimate the snacks. When you're out and always on the go, you work up an appetite faster than you realize. Cultural food is different and may not agree with your stomach- so pack lots of granola bars, trail mix, jerky, etc. I thought I brought a lot of snacks on my last overseas trip, but found that I was having to ration my snacks out within just one week of being there. You can't over-pack here, especially if you have food allergies or sensitivities. Your teammates and fellow travel buddies will want some of your food, too- and you know you have to share! Tea and instant coffee are other things that are nice to have on hand- as well as packaged electrolyte powders and instant flavored water packets to help cover the odd taste of different drinking water.

6. Be Frivolous- Just Once. You're far away from home. Bring something frivolous that makes you smile or holds a special meaning. Whether it's a fun magazine, a family member's oversized shirt for lounging in, or a book that always encourages you, it's okay to pack it! You'll be glad to have a little taste of home while you're away.

7. Find the Largest Water Bottle Possible. Hydration is key while traveling. As long as you have a comfortable backpack, carrying a large water bottle is never a problem. Many people I traveled with ran out of water in their small bottles quickly- but I never had to worry with my large one. It also was a good visual of how much water I was supposed to be drinking. Camelbak is another option, however, they are difficult to clean.

8. Don't Be Afraid of Long Sleeves. The sun is hot, and although you may romanticize the idea of a tan, you really are just going to get fried. Bring loose cotton button-up shirts- especially the ones where the sleeves can roll up and are secured with a button- and tank tops to go underneath. It will protect your arms and truly will keep you more cool. Look for cotton and linen, fabrics that are breathable.

9. Your Electronics Don't Like Travel. When traveling overseas, you will need adapters and converters in order for your American electronics to charge. This goes for hair dryers, computer cords, phone cords, camera chargers, etc. Do your research, and buy adapters with different prongs in order to be certain one of them will be able to fit into an outlet overseas. If you want phone service overseas, you will also need a SIM card from the country you will be staying in, or rent a cellphone from a popular provider there.

 10. Journal Frequently. You may feel like you want to just experience everything you possibly can and you can't afford any downtime, but please- take time to journal. You absolutely won't regret it. You may think you'll remember to write something down once you get back home, but it just won't happen. Take the time out in the evenings or whenever you have down time- while on busses or waiting at a pick up point- and create a written record of all that you're experiencing and learning. My travel journals are some of my most precious possessions, and I am so grateful for someone who pushed me to journal. Even though I took time to write about every other day while away, looking back I wish I would have taken even more time!

Can you tell us about your relationship with Jesus?

I heard the Gospel – the amazing news that Jesus died to save me from my sins and make me right with God – and the Christ drew my heart so that I received Him as my Savior from my sins and surrendered my life to Jesus my Lord as a young woman.
Jesus transformed my life – I had a peace that I was forgiven from my sins and right with God, joy of being able to walk with the Lord and in His Truth by His strength, and the hope of heaven when I died.
The Lord continued to open my eyes and draw me (through His Word, the testimony of other’s lives, and His work in my heart) to see that I was meant to go deeper in my own close and personal relationship with Him. Not just know about Him, know and love that He lived in me, and pray every so often, but to have a real walk with Him.
As I received His grace to respond and follow Him, I made Him my priority, began really seeking to know Him, and spend time with Him, I came to know Jesus as far more than the One I heard about in church, read about in my Bible, or even prayed to, He became more and more real to me.
It was as I personally knew Jesus for who He really is, experien

ced His love, heard His voice, and
saw Him real in my circumstances that I had found what my heart had been longing for in the depths of my heart. He changed my life. I found what I was longing for – like Psalm 107:9 says, “He satisfies the longing soul.” I was satisfied in the Lord and His love for me, as I came to know His heart more, I knew I could trust Him in every area of my life, and I was filled with purpose to live for Him and be pleasing and beautiful to Him. This was no longer because I had to; but, because I knew Him and loved Him, I wanted to do it.
Since then, the Lord continues to reveal Himself to me, bring me to deeper levels of surrender, and do His work in my heart! Life is an amazing journey with my Savior that I would not trade for anything!

What practical things help you keep your relationship with Christ strong?

Though my life was totally transformed when I found Christ to be my All, I have seen over and over the critical reality that this most important relationship with Him takes cultivating, just like any relationship. He is so worth seeking with everything I am and He is always so faithful to draw near to me as I pursue Him!

These are some of the things that are especially helpful for me:

  • Moment-by-moment fellowship with Him – sharing every moment of life with Him.
  • Daily time with Him – prayer, reading His Word, worship, journaling, and more.
  • Keeping Him and my walk with Him first.
  • Shaping all my choices around what will help me know and love Him more (books, use of time, music, friends, etc.).
  • Eliminating things that do not encourage my life in Him.
  • Keeping a clear conscience before Him – allowing nothing between me and my Savior.
  • Actively cultivating my soul through spiritual feeding – deep teaching, biographies, books, etc.
  • Fellowship with others who love Him and accountability in following Him
  • Sharing His goodness and Truth with others (speaking, writing, conversation, discipleship) – it confirms it even more in my own heart.
  • Keeping an eternal perspective.
  • Living for Him alone – my audience of One.
  • Having special reminders of Him and His love. This so helps me in moment-to-moment life! As I was growing in relationship with the Lord and loving Him, I wanted to have something special as a reminder of Him – just like I had special things that reminded me of specific friendships. So, He gave me anything shaped like a heart as my reminder of Him and His love. It has been so powerful and something that has been so helpful in pointing me to Him. So many times I will be rushing along in my day and He will bring something shaped like a heart that brings life back into focus. For example, one day I was doing the ordinary task of cleaning the bathroom, but was losing focus and having a harder day. I bent over to scrub the counter and there was a puddle on the bathroom counter shaped like a heart. It brought life back into focus and I found such joy in remembering, “That’s right! What matters is the Lord and His love. I want to clean this bathroom for Him!” It is such a simple thing, but has proven to be SO powerful to regularly refocus and remind me of what really matters – the Lord and my relationship with Him. Often I will see a heart, smile, and say, “I love You, too, Lord.”
  • Viewing every situation in life as an opportunity to know Him more. This transforms life into a beautiful adventure of knowing the Lord more and adds purpose to every aspect of life! As we look to Him and ask, “Lord, what does this situation tell me about You and how can I know You more through this situation?” He will make Himself known to us in ways we have never seen Him before! Through sorrow, I have come to know Him as my Comforter, through joy, my Song, through changes, my solid Rock and the One who never changes…and so much more! It is like a daily treasure hunt to know the greatest Treasure – Jesus!
  • Walking in the reality of His love and living in the Truth of Who He is. There is a big difference between knowing about His love in our heads and embracing it in a way that alters how we live our lives. For me a huge help in loving Him and keeping my walk with Him strong has been personally accepting His love and living consistently in its reality. Daily I see the power that comes from walking in the Truth of Who my Savior is. As I do this, it radically impacts how I live my life! If I walk in the Truth that He is sovereign, I will not worry about the future and if I walk in the Truth that He is all-satisfying, I will not look for satisfaction anywhere else, etc.
  • Basing my life on the Lord, His Word, and His love keeps my heart stable and deepens my walk with Him – regardless of the circumstances around me!
Every step towards Him is precious and I have experienced that He truly is, “a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Heb. 11:6)

When did you gain a heart for ministering to young women?

It all began when the Lord transformed my life through knowing Him as my ALL. I had found all that I was longing for in Him and I passionately wanted others to know Him, too. I knew that knowing Him and making Him known was the purpose for which I was meant to pour out my life. As I sought the Lord for His specific call for this, I felt Him leading me into discipleship of young women. I passionately love these young women and long that I can be someone just a little older than they are encouraging them that a close relationship with Christ is possible, a joy, and worth living for with every ounce of their being!

How has God built Loving the Lord Ministries?

This ministry is truly His. He has brought it to pass and He is the One Who changes lives. He deserves all of the glory! I feel as if I have watched Him work.
Through my teen years, I treasured the one-on-one discipleship relationships the Lord provided with younger girls in my life. As the Lord confirmed His call to young women’s discipleship, He opened doors to serve with various young women’s ministries through leading groups, writing articles, and speaking at conferences. Then in 2002, I started a discipleship group at my home with 13 girls (ages 11-16) and wrote material from what the Lord had used to transform my life and walk with Him. I was amazed at the incredible response and evident need in the girls’ lives. Soon, people began asking for a conference for young women. The following summer of 2003, through the Lord’s confirmation, my family hosted our first conference and again were amazed at the response and evident need.
We then started receiving requests for spiritual growth materials for people to use to begin young women’s discipleship groups. The Lord impressed on my heart the messages and we recorded four different conferences series’ on various topics critical to young women. These were developed into spiritual growth material in the form of DVDs and handbooks. Women of all ages and churches around the country have used this material for discipleship and to start groups. The Lord has consistently provided opportunities to speak and host conferences across the nation, as well as abroad. Over the years, He has provided an incredible team of young women and women who love the Lord and are passionate for others to know Him. We also host a blog and I write a periodic newsletter as a way to reach young women, stay connected with the conference attendees, and provide continuing encouragement in pursuing Christ.
Each year, the Lord has continued to lead, open doors, and show Himself strong. We are continually in awe of Him! I have seen HIM move in ways I never could have dreamed. We could fill books with stories of His faithfulness and miraculous work. I have stood in awe so many times as the Lord has transformed a heart, specifically answered prayers for the provision of funds (to the dollar!), or given extra strength when I was weak.
I have experienced Him in ways I never would have otherwise. I have witnessed with my own eyes that He is all that He claims to be and always fulfills His promises. Next to knowing Him, this has been the most fulfilling element of my life. He has taken my weakest areas and shown Himself so strong. I continue to daily see my dependence upon Him and the beauty of His faithfulness. This is HIS ministry, we give Him all of the glory for what He has done, and we are so excited about all that He has in store as we keep our eyes on Him!

What would be your encouragement to other girls who feel called to young women’s ministry?

Ministry to young women is an incredible privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to treasure! This is the heartbeat of what my encouragement to you would be as you embrace the call to young women’s ministry:
Keep your relationship with Jesus first. Abiding in Him bears true fruit (John 15). Keep going deep in your relationship with the Lord and let ministry be an outflow vs. allowing serving Him to come before Him!
Come before Him in surrender and ask Him to direct you on the type of ministry, size, age group, etc.
Take each step of obedience and be faithful to His direction.
Your feelings of inadequacy are the beautiful key to keeping your dependence upon Him and allowing His strength to powerfully equip you for what He is calling you to do!
Embrace the joy of being a vessel – 2 Cor. 4:7 – and allow HIM to live, love, and touch lives through you. That is when hearts are eternally changed.
Seek Him for the message He wants you to teach and share from your life. This can be done using a specific book or type of spiritual growth material with them, or sharing an original message that the Lord gives to you! The key is that you share from your heart and life the reality of the Lord and His Word.
It can be helpful to start with a mentoring relationship or a small discipleship group, and to allow Him to grow/direct for His best.
Treasure the priceless gift of laboring together with Him.
Be faithful right in the place/calling in which He has you – When I first started discipling young women, I said to the Lord, “Lord, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that You have called me to
disciple young women and I passionately love it. But, what is my place in reaching the people in China who have never heard of You?” He brought to mind girls who at the last gathering had said that they wanted to be missionaries and another who wanted to stop abortion. The Lord used this to so clearly show me, “Amy, if you will be faithful in what I have called you to do, I will in turn use the impact of what I do through you in these girls’ lives to impact those THEY touch – in China or beyond!”
As you work with young women, some specific ways to be effective include:
Love them! Ask the Lord to give you a deep love for the girls. Love opens the doors of the girls hearts to hear and receive all that the Lord has to give them through you.
Care for their hearts and show it. When they see that you really care and are concerned about where they are with the Lord, they will be so ready to listen and apply what you share! Let them know that you are available for them.
Your example is powerful! Remember that they are watching your every move and will look back on it for years to come. It is an awesome opportunity as well as a sobering responsibility! (How can we tell them to do something if we are not doing it ourselves?)
Keep the goal in mind – Pointing these dear girls hearts to love the Lord with all that they are, to base their lives on His Word, and to fulfill the perfect plan that He has for their lives.
Pray for them!!! It is only as the Lord works in their hearts that any lasting difference is made. Asking the girls for specific requests can be one of the most powerful doors to deeper discussion about that is happening in their hearts.
See them through God’s eyes. Ask the Lord to help you see these girls as He sees them – seeing beyond the outward appearance and demeanor to a precious soul and the potential they have in Him.
Rest in the Lord and allow Him to do His work through you. As you present yourself to the Lord as a willing and empty vessel, He will do His work through you in a beautiful way. The results will be lives that are changed for eternity!
Remember that – “He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”  1 Thess. 5:24

Being Mission Minded << What's Cookin' - Soft chocolate chip cookie recipe : Alisha Bonnell >>

In our family, chocolate chip cookies are a hands down favorite!  In fact, the family members are really picky about what recipe is used - so typically, I don't try new chocolate chip cookie recipes lol.  However, when I found a recipe in an Amish cookbook that I picked up in Jamesport, Missouri (I have a fascination with the Amish / Mennonite culture) ... I just had to try it.  After persuading my family, I made it - and everyone loved them!!!!!

So without further rambling - here is the recipe :)

Amish Soft Chocolate Chip cookies

Ingredients
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs (if using large eggs, then use 3 eggs)
1/2 c. whole milk (add 3/4 tsp. of baking soda in milk)
2 1/2 c. flour

1 tsp. baking powder
1 small package of chocolate chips

Directions
Mix & *drop by teaspoon on a greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 400 degrees until slightly browned around edges**.

*with this recipe, don't even bother trying to roll the dough into little balls.  The cookie dough in this recipe is a different consistency and doesn't work!

** I don't exactly remember how long it took to cook the cookies.  I believe we just used the normal cooking time on other chocolate chip cookie recipes.

NOTE : with this recipe, the cookies won't be the typical brown-ish color ... instead they will be a blonde cake-y chocolate chip cookie!

Being Mission Minded << Your Time to Speak guest post - Mrs. Lori B >>

So often when we think of missions we have this idea it means going abroad – over seas - to share the Gospel with those that are lost and have never heard the name Jesus Christ. It seems so glamorous in it's ideal situation. After all Jesus did tell us in Acts 1:8 that ye shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” But does that really mean that each of us must travel to the ends of the earth in order to share that sacred name; Jesus? It is my opinion that we, in fact, need to rethink what being mission-minded truly means according to the Scriptures.

Let us first explore Acts 1:8. When Jesus spoke this “Great Commission” He wasn't suggesting we all jump on the next red-eye flight bound for Tim-buck-too. He says that we will be witnesses of him in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost. Let me create a word picture – think of Jerusalem as your home; your neighborhood. Judea could be the city you live in. Samaria is the bigger picture; your country – the US. And of course the uttermost will be the places that you may never think of going (traveling abroad). So in this verse he talks of ministering to everyone... starting from those closest to you. But the where does it really start?

I believe it all starts at home.

Please don't misunderstand me... there is a definite place for people traveling across our boarders to tell others of what God did for us on the cross. I believe Christians (as a whole) have lost sight of the big picture. We see so many suffering and lost lives via the media, visiting missionaries, church bulletins that I think our lens is clouded as to what He first called us to – the family. I believe being mission-minded starts in the home; serving God selflessly and then extends outward with a motion like a drop of water in a cup. But what does serving God selflessly look like for a twelve, fourteen, sixteen, twenty (some) year old young lady look like today? A married woman?

It looks like a rose, emerging from the soil, beautifully giving credit to its Maker's design – blooming to be what it's suppose to be, exactly where the gardener has planted it, in its perfect time. Giving glory to God in everything.

We are each a rose, God is the Maker (as well as the gardener). He planted each of us, regardless of the season we are in, exactly where we are. He makes no mistakes, therefore if you are still in school, do your school to the glory of God. If you've graduated, waiting for Mr. Right to come along, be the helper at home that gives glory to God. (did you know learning to serve your earthly father as you would your husband is not only good practice, but also glorifying to God?) If you've crossed over into the blessed union of marriage (even motherhood) – learn to glorify God by becoming the best helpmeet (mother) you can be for those God has entrusted to you.

You see... being mission-minded is more than travel, glamor, and verbally sharing the Gospel with everyone you meet. It is learning the heart of God and allowing Him to have that ripple effect through us, through our family. That's why I believe family is the foundation. We must strive to be women of purpose; to live our lives discipling our children and loving our husbands. We must direct our children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. We must be intentionally living with a generational vision. Our home must be our first mission field. Our family must be those that we purpose to effect first. Our children should be foremost on our list to disciple.

I understand it's a difficult place to be; not knowing when and where God has you going next. Especially when you want something so badly. God tells us He is a light unto our path, a lamp unto our feet – with that light, from that lamp - we are only allowed to see a short distance. He offers to guide us and protect us, but we must be in His will, being obedient in faith that He knows best. I would like to encourage you to stay the course and not give in to the earthly ideals of where your mission field “should be”. There are plenty of opportunities for being mission-minded in your home, in your city, in this country. Allow God to grow the vision of His mission in your heart. And if you seek Him and his kingdom first, everything else will fall into place.

Being Mission Minded << Missionaries Among Us - Sarah Bryant >>

♡ Will you please tell our readers a little bit about yourself? What are your favorite pastimes?

Hello! I am a homeschool graduate and live with my family on a farm in Kansas. I am thankful for God's faithfulness and the lessons He is teaching me each day. Living at home with my family is such a blessing, enabling me to be part of a home economy, while also doing graphic and photography work on the side. I am passionate about knowing the Lord, seeing His Kingdom and Gospel advance, serving alongside my family, and passing on a Christian heritage to future generations. We publish a magazine for young ladies, “The King's Blooming Rose.”

♡ Can you tell us about your family? Growing up, what were your family's convictions?

The Lord has blessed me with two godly parents who desire to teach their children to walk in God's ways. This has been a tremendous privilege for my five siblings and I, which also gives us a responsibility to take what we have been given and run further with it. I'm grateful for this Biblical foundation, which has enabled me to seek and know the Lord from an early age. There is still so much we all have to learn, and God is faithful to teach us in the journey of life. He knows what is best for us and what will sanctify us—and along the way, His Word is a firm Guide of life.

♡ How have your standards changed as an individual as you have matured in your faith?

As I have gotten older, I have realized why the things my parents have taught me are so important. I have studied the reasons why “we do what we do.” I can't just blindly walk down a path—at some point, I'll lose my way. Instead, I need to know from God's Word what He desires of me and how to live that out daily. It's so easy for us, as Christian young ladies, to merely rest on our parents' teaching. We can tend to be lazy about seeking the Lord for ourselves. We have been taught about Him, but maybe haven't put that much personal effort into studying His Word and finding out the reasons for our convictions. But our parents' faith and/or our “good moral lives” will NOT save us. We must personally and individually realize how short we fall of God's standard, and come before the Lord in repentance, desiring to mature in our faith and to know Him better. We must embrace our parents' Biblical convictions for ourselves, knowing why we do so, so that we can pass on God's testimonies to our future children, as Psalm 78 talks about.

As opposition to Biblical truth is increasing, persecution of Christians seems imminent. We—you and I—must be prepared spiritually, by knowing God's Word in and out, knowing what He desires of us, knowing what is right and wrong—so that we will have an answer for the hope that lies within us, and we will not cave in worldly pressure. God's grace is sufficient and will see us through hard days ahead! “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” (1 Peter 4:12-13)

♡ The Bible commands us to preach the Gospel in Matthew 28:19-20. How do you, as a young lady living under her father's protection, live this verse out?

The Gospel is what we, as God's children, should be all about. It should permeate every detail of our lives. It is not just a three-step salvation tract we hand out on the streets. Rather, the Gospel is preached through us every day by how we live and the choices we make. As we live in obedience to God's will for us as daughters and sisters, submissive to our parents and loving others, the Gospel is made manifest. Our lives are to be a living sacrifice for Jesus (Romans 12:1). Never forget that day in and out, you are “preaching the Gospel” to your siblings as they watch you. When you fail, you have a perfect opportunity to share Jesus by recognizing your sin and repenting. As they see you needing the Lord and His forgiveness, it will be a living testimony to them of the Gospel. Use these daily opportunities to share Jesus with those closest to you in your own home!

♡ You mentioned that you have a magazine ministry, would you mind telling our readers about the ministry?

KBR Ministries encourages young ladies in their walk with the Lord through several outreaches, including a books, conference for mothers and daughters, online articles, and a printed magazine. “The King's Blooming Rose” magazine unites a community of Christian girls across the nation who love the Lord, and desire to live for Him while serving their families. KBR also has published several books for girls, including The Family Daughter and a beautiful cookbook, The Maiden's Menu. We welcome you to visit www.kingsbloomingrose.com and join us in our journey to Biblical womanhood!

♡What are some words of encouragement/advice/wisdom that you can give to young ladies?

Seize the day—you will never have another “today”! Colossians 4:5 says, “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.” Today, we can seek the Lord, prepare for the future, learn useful life skills, serve others, and be faithful in our duties and callings. Do not despise the day of small beginnings (read Zechariah 4:10). We will not just wake up one morning with everything we need to live life obediently for Christ. We must start living for Him today. Sisters, seek the Lord and put Him first in your life. His Word offers us the Path of Life—Jesus Christ! “The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” (Proverbs 4:18)
